Synopsis
Follow Catherine Ravenscroft, a TV documentary journalist whose work revolves around exposing the wrongdoings of long-respected institutions. Gary Oldman was rumored to be cast, but Kevin Kline replaced him. I’ve never read the book, so my review of the series is independent. The series is too long, too drawn out. It was intriguing and mysterious in the first few episodes, but by episode five I was like, “Oh my God, stop it already.” Catherine’s silence/constant interruptions as she tries to tell her side just seem like plot devices to keep the story going. She’s clearly setting up a “twist.” The constant, detailed sex scenes are just incredible. Literally pornographic. I don’t mind sex scenes, but if I wanted to watch “detailed” ten minutes of sex scenes, my first choice wouldn’t be Apple TV+.
